Synopsis:
Archie is working hard to impress Elaine, a new girl at school, by giving her a guided tour of the gym. Each time Archie attempts to show off his athletic skills (or lack thereof), someone else comes along and does better. First Archie vaults over the pommel horse, only to have another student walk in and do the same thing with one hand while reading a book at the same time. Then Archie tries to do a flip on the mat, only to land flat on his back. Shortly after this, another kid comes along, does several flips in the air and lands perfectly on his feet on the other side of the mat. After this, Archie tries to make a basket. He misses, and Betty grabs the ball, flings it towards the hoop and makes a perfect nothing-but-net shot. Finally, Archie pays Moose $5 to have Archie pin him on the wrestling mat. Elaine is so impressed with this that she convinces Archie to coach her brother Harvie at wrestling. The only problem is that Harvie is much bigger than Archie - about the same height as Moose, only much fatter. In the second-to-last panel, Veronica asks Betty if Archie is making a big impression on the new girl. Betty says he is. In the last panel, she adds "but not HALF the impression her brother is making on ARCHIE!". They are now in the gym, and Harvey is sitting on top of Archie on the mat, and bending his legs back. Archie can be seen as being in extreme pain.

Genre:
humor; teen
Characters:
Archie Andrews; Jughead Jones; Hiram Lodge
Synopsis:
Mr. Lodge is considering manufacturing ATVs, and wants to get an idea of how the ride is from a passenger's point of view, so he asks Archie to drive. Jughead decides to stay behind. Archie then proceeds to test the ATV on a smooth road, and on rough terrain. After that, he decides to test its speed, and goes flying up a hill, off a cliff and into a lake. He pulls out of the lake and tells Mr. Lodge that he shouldn't try to talk underwater. After that, Archie drives straight up the side of a very high cliff, and then back down a steep hill at top speed - right into some quicksand. After pulling out of the quicksand, Archie drives into a storm drain ("Very safe! As long as it doesn't rain!"), and somehow ends up in the middle of a fancy restaurant before returning to where he started. Archie seems fine, but Mr. Lodge is obviously shaken up from the ride, and wonders how Archie can be so "cool and unruffled" after that nightmare of a ride. Archie says that the ride was mild and that his jalopy gives him a wilder ride just backing out of the garage.

Genre:
humor; teen
Characters:
Archie Andrews; Fred Andrews; Betty Cooper; Jughead Jones; Midge Klump; Veronica Lodge; Moose Mason; Reggie Mantle; Mr. Waldo Weatherbee
Synopsis:
Archie, on his way to school notices kids skulking around, and knows that they're up to no good. Archie decides that "as an ideal young chap", it's his duty to follow the kids and see what they're up to. As the strip continues, and Archie hides to avoid being seen, we learn that the kids are playing hooky from school because their moms were mean to them. The kids then decide to take it one step further - drop out, run away and do their own thing, even though neither one thinks they're old enough to know what their own thing is. In the next panel, Archie is seen thinking "Now what's the ideal way for an ideal lad like me to show these tots the error of their ways?". Following that, Archie gets an idea (this panel is used for a hilarious gag). He messes up his hair, ruffles up his clothes a bit and asks the kids to help him as he's in need. When the kids ask them if he's a bum, he says that he's a professional dropout, and that he arrived at his current state by doing his own thing. He continues to tell the kids a sappy sob story about how he was running away because his mom was trying to make him an ideal American boy. He had a wonderful time - for about two and a half hours. Then he was hungry, had no lpace to sleep and missed his mom. Without school, he was too dumb to get a job. The kids ask how long it took him to get the way he currently is, and he says that he was about their size when he started, but he has one satisfaction - he DID do his own thing. The kids, not wanting to end up like Archie, quickly decide to go to school. As Archie is cleaning up and preparing to head off to school, his dad drives by. Archie starts to tell his dad what happened, but his dad doesn't want to hear it and thinks Archie's skipping school. As Mr. Andrews drives Archie to school, he proceeds to yell at Archie, saying that Betty called from school to see if Archie was sick. Archie tries to explain, but his dad doesn't want to talk to him, and drags him off to school. Mr. Weatherbee thinks Archie has also skipped school. In the last panel, Archie and the gang continue to talk about Archie.

Genre:
humor; teen

Archie Andrews; Betty Cooper; Dilton Doiley (cameo); Miss Geraldine Grundy; Jughead Jones; Veronica Lodge; Moose Mason; Ethel Muggs; Reggie Mantle; Mr. Waldo Weatherbee
Synopsis:
Miss Grundy asks for a volunteer to wash the blackboard. Reggie volunteers, but Archie says he'll do it. As he grabs the water bowl and runs off to fill it up, he tells Reggie that he's much faster than him. He fills up the bowl, telling Miss Grundy that he's a pro. He runs back into the classroom carrying the bowl full of water, saying that he's the school champ when it comes to cleaning blackboards. Reggie says "Don't you mean the school CHUMP?". Reggie then sticks his foot out, tripping Archie, which causes the water to spill all over Veronica and splash onto Moose, who's sitting in front of her. Veronica is furious and asks Archie if he's trying to drown her. She calls him a clumsy oaf, complains about what he did to her nice hairdo, and picks up the water bowl. She flings the bowl in Archie's direction, but Archie ducks at the last second, causing the bowl to hit Reggie in the head instead. Reggie says he'll show Veronica how to do it, and throws a book at Archie, saying maybe that will knock some sense into Archie's hollow head. Once again, Archie ducks and the book hits Moose in the back of the head. Moose thinks Reggie did it on purpose, and chases after Reggie, attempting to grab him. Reggie runs right into Jughead, who is walking into the room carrying a box with several jars of red poster paint. The paint goes flying, and the jars crash onto the desks of Betty and Ethel, who are sitting next to one another. At first the girls think they're bleeding, but Jughead, who is putting the few un-broken jars of paint back in the box, points out that it's paint. In the last panel, Veronica, Betty and Ethel are all seen chasing after Archie - Veronica saying that she has a score to settle with Archie, and Betty and Ethel saying that Archie owes them a new dress. Miss Grundy looks on in bewilderment and says that you would think someone would invent a blackboard that would clean itself. Mr. Weatherbee also looks on, although he has no clue what's going on.
