It was first offered to retailers as a 1-in-50 incentive signed by Mark Waid; unsigned copies were offered as a 1-in-20 incentive for the second printing of the issue. A "negative" variant using this cover's art also exists, as indexed below.
This cover reads "Mark Waid Is Evil" in large type; it is shown and named in the first Irredeemable collection, where Pleban is credited with the design. Mosher is credited with coining the slogan in various articles and interviews online.
This variant, exclusive to retailer A Comic Shop and limited to 500 copies, uses Spokes' art to Cover C in "negative".
This variant, exclusive to retailer Earth 2, was limited to 500 copies. It uses Cassaday's black-&-white art to Cover A with text elements, including Earth 2 logo, in red.
This variant, exclusive to retailer Atomic Comics, was limited to 1,000 copies. It uses Kitson's art to Cover B with solid red coloring and text elements, including Atomic Comics logo, in white and orange.
For the 2nd printing of this issue Kitson's black-&-white art to Cover B was used, with some typography still in color. Unsigned copies of the 1st printing of Cover C were offered as a 1-in-20 retailer incentive for ordering this 2nd printing.
The inside front cover has logo, credits, and indicia set against negative red-&-black detail of John Cassaday's art to Cover A.
