Synopsis
Arak, Satyricus and Dyanna have completed their escape from Byzantium. Upon departing, Dyanna warns the others not to enter the forbidden woods in the distance. However, while Arak visits a village for supplies, Satyricus (true to his nature) lures a couple of women right into the forbidden woods for a little fun. Later, Arak follows their tracks and finds a forest glade dominated by a golden bough. He's then attacked by a large man claiming to be the high priest of Artemis. When, Arak kills him, Dyanna and friends appear and announce Arak will now be the high priest for the rest of his life.

Synopsis
Malagigi uses his sorcery to determine that the cause of Creston's death originated in the monastery of Mount Saint-Michael. When Valda journeys there to investigate, she is attacked by hooded figures. When she mortally wounds one of them, she discovers he's one of the monks, and he actually thanks Valda for releasing him! Just then, Valda is attacked from behind and rendered unconscious. The remaining monks carry her to the monastery, which has now been converted to Baledor's fortress.
