- Synopsis
- Aquaman is alerted that an alien starfish has landed on Earth, enlarged to giant-size three Terran starfish, and sent them off to help him conquer the world. Aquaman alerts the JLA, and they break up to take on the three starfish -- Green Lantern handling one, J'onn J'onzz and Wonder Woman handling the second, and Flash tackling the last. Flash finds that his starfish has taken control of the people of Happy Harbor, except for Snapper Carr. He deduces that it is the lime covering Snapper which makes him immune. Knowing the way to defeat their enemy, the heroes regroup to defeat Starro.

- Synopsis
- As several JLAers experience a sudden power loss, Flash finds that someone has used powers like theirs to steal a European catfish and a cicada. Snapper suggests the thefts have to do with someone researching immortality, and the JLA splits up to investigate other long-lived creatures. In every case, the JLAers come up against Amazo, who steals their powers, defeats them, and takes them to his creator's lab, where Professor Ivo is preparing an immortality serum. Green Lantern is able to use the weakness of his own ring against Amazo and Ivo, restore the JLA's powers, and defeat the villain.

- Synopsis
- Flash encounters two aliens from Kalanor -- Jasonar and Sardanna -- who are on Earth to complete a weapon to overthrow the tyrant Despero, who has taken over their planet. Flash summons the other JLAers to help, but by the time Flash arrives at JLA headquarters, Despero has taken control of Flash's comrades. Despero challenges Flash to a game where losing means the banishment of the JLA members to distant planets. While the JLAers overcome the challenges of the planets they have been sent to and return home, Snapper helps Jasonar use his completed weapon to put an end to the threat of Despero.

Carthan challenges the JLA, now including Green Arrow, to disable the machines. After disabling the machines, the JLA enters Carthan’s ship, where he imprisons them in a hollow diamond until he can explain. When Carthan is unable to release the JLA, Green Arrow finds the diamond’s weak spot and shatters it.

But when he encounters the members of the JLA, he fears that they will interfere with his fortune-hunting schemes. So he conspires to strap them to a spinning wheel in order to over-stimulate and destroy their good luck glands, leaving them only bad luck.
