- Synopsis
- The new handsome French doctor is coldly aloof with everyone. He finally tells Sally how he and his girlfriend had volunteered to go to Vietnam during the French War in Indochina. During an attack, he had been shot while they were trying to flee through the jungle and Angelique had to give him regular morphine injections for the pain until they finally reached a base hospital. But his new addition to the drug drove away Angelique and cost him his job on the hospital staff. He came to England where, after a year of intensive treatment, his addiction was cured.

- Synopsis
- When Françoise sees a newspaper headline that Charles is returning to his hometown, she tells her boyfriend that she wants to return home for two weeks to see her parents. Her friend Anne also wants to return to Lake City, so they travel together. On the way there, they stop at a motel run by an old friend Kate and her husband. He reveals that Kate has a history with Charles and that night Françoise and Anne swap bedtime stories that are actually their own past experiences with Charles. The next morning, they realize that Charles was never serious about them and they decide to go back.
