Synopsis:

An octopoid space monster terrifies a ship's crew. Rick Starr (The Space Ranger), flying in The Solar King with Myra and Cryll, learn it's a space mirage broadcast by blue-ostrich Korthan rebels out to conquer their planet and Earth. Cryll's disguises and Space Ranger's use of an old iron cannon to disperse the mirages saves the planet.

Indexer Notes

Rick Starr is "The Space Ranger" in titles, but just "Space Ranger" in dialogue. He uses a tool belt of gadgets, not his later multi-pistol.
