- Synopsis
- Fred walks off in anger and Jill loses him in the fog. She thinks she sees him, but it is someone else. Feeling the urge to talk to someone, she tells the man how they had gone to see Jess Spartan sing at the theatre. Jill tells the man how Fred was twice as good as Jess, but wouldn't sign a contract because he didn't want to throw his current life away. Then the wind clears the fog a little and she realizes she is talking to Jess Spartan. Jess tells her how he had been in Fred's situation once, but success had caused him to drift apart from his girlfriend.

- Synopsis
- Daphne catches the bride's bouquet at her friend's wedding, but her dreams of getting married before the year's out seem to be dashed when she breaks up with her boyfriend. Her picture in the local paper is seen by an old friend Daphne hasn't seen since they left school. They arrange to meet and Tilly's brother, who used to have frogs in his pockets and chased Daphne with a worm, shows up. But Ken is now a handsome man. Almost exactly one year after catching the bouquet, Ken and Daphne are married.
As is typical with this feature, Davy and Val are only portrayed in the first panel as the people who decide which story to publish that week.

- Janet had put up with the hurts and slights caused by Alec's lies because she loved him. She felt joy when he asked her to marry him, but during their engagement party he announces that he's got a new job that will require him to be in Canada for three years and they would have to forget marriage for a time. Three years later he comes back to claim her and she can't deny she loves him. But she is married now and has a son. She loves her husband and no longer needs Alec.

- When Mary's boss took her to a conference at the hospital, she gets lectured for looking a little pale by a Scotsman who is a complete stranger. She replies that if she wants advice about her health, she'll go to a doctor only to discover she is talking to a doctor. Her job often requires her to work late hours and she wonders if the doctor might be right about her health. She goes for a walk, but ends up five miles from town and no bus for two hours. Then the doctor drives by and offers to give her a ride. When he stops to check in on a patient, she sees the doctor in a new light.
