- Synopsis
- As the Joes leave from Millville (issue #'s 139-142), they split up: One group goes to Washington alongside Scarlett for debriefing about Dr. Biggles-Jones, taken there by Wild Bill, while the others await another transport home. On the way to Washington, Hawk remembers with Stalker when the Joes were on one of their first missions, which was to rescue George Strawhacker from Cobra in the Middle East, but the mission was almost scrubbed because of the helicopter accident that day (issue #26-flashback sequence), but Snake-Eyes wanted the mission to continue with him, which it did successfully.

several story errors: 1. Cobra wasn't known when this story had occurred, given in issue #26's flashback sequence, this mission originally was a Middle Eastern mission to rescue hostages, which is what caused Snake-Eyes' disfigurement when the other helicopter crashed into the one carrying both him and Scarlett, and not just a mission to rescue Strawhacker solo. Cobra was only named in issue one of this series. This being retconned in apparently happened, with such a change happening to Snake-Eyes origin now from issue #'s 26-27.
2.Cobra agents are shown wearing Viper trooper uniforms in the flashback sequence, when those uniforms weren't even existent then. They didn't show up until circa 1986, so they should have been wearing Cobra trooper or Officer uniforms instead.
3.Stalker is artistically drawn incorrectly at the end of this issue, given he was still in his 2nd uniform (arctic wear) when the story started, and not his original uniform.
