- Synopsis
- Travelling salesman Les is regularly away from his wife Ginny, but plans to buy a small town hardware store and settle down. Ginny hates the plan, parties hard and finds herself pursued by Neil. She holds Neil off, but finally accepts his kisses when Les returns unexpectedly. Les leaves Ginny to buy the hardware store. Finally Ginny follows, deciding a wife belongs at her husband's side. He forgives her.

- Synopsis
- Marie gives up dancing to marry Bill, but transfers her ambition to her daughter Sally who begins to regularly win amateur dancing contests. When Bill gets a promotion in Chicago, Marie refuses to leave New York so Sally can stay for a television audition. But Sally doesn't want to dance; she hates dancing, wants to have fun like other children and wants her daddy back. Marie realises she has been stupid and heads to Chicago.

- Synopsis
- When Connie gets an accidental break on radio, Brad tries to play the lonely role as husband of a celebrity wife. He follows Connie to New York, but it's the final straw when she forgets their wedding anniversary. Connie promises to change, but it makes little difference and Brad returns to Greenport. At a weekend with her happily-married manager Alex and his former celebrity wife Doris, Connie emotionally sees what she's missing. She realises "that a husband and wife in love, in their own home, are the very essence of a happy marriage and a happy life."

- Synopsis
- After her marriage, Helen has nightmares of cars eating her. Her husband Mike is obsessed with cars and his mechanic job. Then he buys a 'Miller Special' and plans to race it. In anger one night, Helen goes to the garage and strikes at the car, leading to it crashing in the race. Mike is in a serious condition and will be an invalid for a year, so Helen studies automotive engineering and runs his garage. Mike is proud of Helen, who knows she must tell him the truth one day when he is well.
