Synopsis
A soldier, Mac, has to test his new "buddy", a G.I. Robot under battle conditions. The robot responds to voice commands, sometimes too well, as in crushing the soldier. They parachute to a Pacific Island, but are attacked by dinosaurs in the air and on land. Time and again "Joe" saves Mac's life. And his own by jumping out of quicksand. The robot tows Mac out to a PT Boat. A sailor calls, "You guys look... rugged! What happened?" "Ask my G.I. buddy! He'll tell you all about it!"
Skipper gets his first command. Not the shiny new destroyer, but an old wreck of a tugboat to be bait for Japanese attacks! Cruising a river, they're kamikazed by a Zero and set afire. Take fire from a howitzer they sideswipe. Get grenades dropped from a bridge that they blow up. They reach the sea as the destroyer is blown up, and ram a Japanese landing craft to save Marines. "She's an unsinkable wreck! And I'm proud to be her commander!"
A Kiowan Indian frogmen tells his pals that the greatest act of bravery for an Indian was to "count coup": rush into battle and touch an enemy. The other frogmen propose to bring back souveniers to count coup after completing their missions. Other guys score, but Swift Otter's battle flag is eaten by sharks and his sub sunk and lost. Until one night he's ambushed by Japanese frogmen - and brings back their wet suits -- skins of the enemy!
