1) Arrival date: 1962-02-13. 2) Statement of Ownership for 1961: Average Sales [of Showcase] 240,000. Both notes by Bob Bailey, 12 August 2005 (Per Sandell ed.)) 3) In Amazing World of DC Comics #10, in the article "There's No Cases Like Showcases" by Jack C. Harris, he notes, "Probably one of the strangest teams in comics, Bob Kanigher and Ross Andru's Metal Men ran for four issues of SHOWCASE... The wonder robots were created (and #37 scripted) in a weekend work session trigger [sic] when editor/writer Kanigher was asked to come up with a SHOWCASE concept quickly. Too unique to be lost, the robot band was launched on a 41-issue span..."

Magnus dances with a platinum robot - who talks! To fight the "creature", Magnus creates five more robots: Gold, Lead, Iron, Mercury, and Tin. "Meet the Metal Men!" Iron hurls it, the manta bats it back, and the rocket disc plummets and crashes on a rooftop.
