However, Mary introduces her boyfriend, who is coincidentally also named Tom Blake. Vivian apologizes to her Tom for not trusting him.

Paul resumes his courtship of Martha but she doesn’t like his gambling habit. Clark comes back: he was badly wounded and had given Paul a message for Martha, but his rival had lied. Margaret and Clark are wed.
