- Synopsis
- High school student Diane pretends to be 12 years old so she can become friends with college student George, who spends his vacation fishing and studying rather than socializing with the local girls. When George finally learns the truth he says Diane is "lying, deceitful" but she apologizes and eventually they get married.
It's unclear exactly how old Diane is supposed to be (probably 16 or 17): she says "I'll shed a few years, all the lipstick and the sophistication!" Since she makes a point of George studying for "his college classes," Diane and "the other kids in our crowd" must be a little younger.
