Synopsis
Based on "The King's Ankus" (1895) by Rudyard Kipling. Bagheera takes Mowgli to the deserted city of Cold Lairs, where he finds treasure guarded by an ancient white cobra. Later he discovers the lengths men will go to to acquire such treasure.

Indexer Notes

Story continues on inside back cover in black and white and concludes on the back cover in color. Pencils and inks credits for this sequence from Alberto Becattini (May 14, 2007).

Changes to the original include the substitution of Bagheera for Kaa the python in the first scene, and the survival of some characters who die in the original. In one scene a dead body is censored by coloring. An argumant between characters later in the story appears to be inspired by the film "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre" (1949).
