Synopsis
Beals hides inside a soft drink bottle display and finds himself trapped when the display is attached to a billboard high above the street. B. O. Plenty becomes furious when a soft-drink bottler uses Sparkle's name and picture without permission. On a hunch, Tracy has the display lowered back to the street. They cut an opening and find Heels Beals dehydrated and close to death. B. O. comes to terms with the soft-drink bottler, and Beals is transported to the jail's hospital ward.

Diet Smith is shot when crooks attempt to steal his invention, the Teleguard, a device that allows monitoring of locations with the help of cameras. Brilliant, the scientist who also worked on the device, demonstrates its potential to Dick Tracy.

Synopsis
Diet Smith sets up a demonstration for his Teleguard machine. Tracy invites Chiefs of Police from all over the country to attend the demonstration. Using phony credentials, Big Frost attends. After learning that Brilliant did most of the development, Big Frost goes to the apartment of the young scientist and shoots him!
