Jim Hardie is caught off guard by outlaws while swimming is a beaver pond. He escapes the ambush by surfacing in the beaver's lodge and then goes on to foil the robber's attempt to rob the Bitter Creek Stage of $100,000.

A stage carrying a strongbox, a case of dynamite, and an Army officer's wife is ambushed by Apaches. Hardie uses the dynamite to hold off the Apaches while the driver and woman go to the Army fort for help.
