Whit and Zane Reagan save Bill Longley's life after a trail accident. Longley finds the two are on the run after being accused of murder when they shot back in self-defense in an ambush. Longley knows the father of the accuser, B.J. Weston, from his service in the Civil War, and goes to talk with him to find out the truth.
