A mischievous giant keeps waking Hot Stuff from his nap, so the little devil decides to build himself a small house for shelter. He tries houses made from straw, wood, and yes, stone. His nightmares cause him to heat up so much, though, that he destroys every house.
Seeking to rob the town of their giant protector, a gnome convinces Stumbo to demand payment for his good deeds. The townspeople are at a loss as to how to pay him, but they offer him all they can (including the shirts off their backs). Stumbo is so touched by this generosity that he states that their love is payment enough.
