With this issue the Pureheart series changes the name of the title character from "Pureheart the Powerful" to "Captain Pureheart," though the original name is occasionally used in the stories. This one issue alone, the indicia title is Captain Purehart.
The issue is credited to "Dick, Vic, Bob and Bill," possibly referring to Richard Goldwater (editor), Victor Gorelick (art director), Bob White (original artist of Pureheart), and Bill Vigoda (artist of this issue). Frank Doyle, the writer of all the Pureheart stories, is not credited.
The stories in this issue move Pureheart more towards pure comedy, as the character starts to become as klutzy and inept as Archie himself.
