In search of relavtives, Burton Pascal comes to Charlons in France. He gets imprisoned in a house of cat people (the Chatnoirs). Pascal can burn the house and destroy the beasts. He is told that the Chatnoirs were burned as witches in the 18th century.
A night guard at the museum discovers a secret formula that makes stone statues come alive and do his bidding. Tillston, the guard, uses his powers to kill people and avenge his brother's death by the verdict of a vice president. His murdering statues can be stopped by detective Dorne.
Laramie Brown comes into possession of a Jarawhal Adem, a magical cord from India. The cord is indestructible, lifts weights and strangles annoying animals. When Brown tries to burn it in the furnace, the cord turns against him.
