Apparently, Mighty Mouse's ability to fly comes from his cape - at least in this particular story. However, his other abilities remain intact, allowing this cape-less, ground-bound mouse to eventually best the flying fox. At story's end, Mighty Mouse gives the boys his "autograph"... in the form of a good spanking.

"Ronzoni" was a popular brand of macaroni and may have sounded good as an Italian name-parody. Ronzoni was depicted as a cat-character, while all other characters in the story were mice - no doubt further emphasizing his evil.
