- Synopsis
- An amnesiac sheepman recovers a memory. He goes to the carcasses of a flock destroyed by a counterfeiting ring that Gene seeks to uncover. He is detained in protective custody as a material witness. A gang holds captive their sister, whom the sheepman is sweet on, and capture Gene. The girl frees herself and Gene. Her brothers shoot each other, are taken to recover, and stand trial. The girl, knowing the villainy, offers sheepman the deed to her ranch to compensate for the loss of his flock. He will settle for nothing less than her hand in marriage, which she is happy to give.
Gaylord Du Bois's Account Books Sorted by Title compiled from the original account books by Randall W. Scott states: "Gene Autry and the Man Who Forgot. 24p. For Gene Autry Comics. Sent January 12, 1949." As usual with Du Bois, an animal is part of the story. ~Dave Porta
