- Synopsis
- Nigerian Henry Kano is extensively burned protecting Timmy from a forest fire. His recovery will require months of hospitalization in the States. His plans to teach his people modern farming methods will be delayed a full year, but the grateful Martins travel to Nigeria through the United States Farm Assistance Program to assume his teaching responsibilities.

- Synopsis
- When the Martins visit an African village to assess the native farming methods, they are viewed with suspicion that only deepens when a native woman is injured in a tornado. Paul, Timmy, and Lassie are held hostage while Ruth takes the injured woman to a distant hospital for treatment. When the woman returns to the village with her injuries mended, the Martins are accepted and a celebration is held.
