They use the plane and its little dud bomb to help the falcon and drive the Serpents away. But the Serpents' BBs have battered Dilton's plane, and its propeller falls off. The boys search for the propeller but can't find it anywhere, leaving Dilton unable to enter the plane in the model prop meet. Later, Dilton tells Little Archie that the falcon won't show gratitude to them for saving her and her baby, because science says that birds have no feelings of thanks; "they're just too busy bein' birds." But then he discovers that science can't predict what this particular falcon will do.
