The setting of this story is shortly after the fall of the Berlin Wall. Veronica accompanies her father on a trip to Poland, Romania and the Soviet Union. She spends time with her guides Yuri and his sister Nina, where she experiences the history of Russia and they all learn the meaning of freedom.
