Synopsis:
Roy visits his friend, Faraday, during the Christmas season. Daughter Penny wants a spotted colt for Christmas. Holden committed attempted murder, forgery, and conspiracy to defraud on Joseph Buck. Roy saves Tommy, speaks to Ro-Nana in Apache, takes Joseph to the doctor, gets a warrant on Holden, is appointed special deputy to arrest him. Trigger disarms a gunslinger. Penny gets her colt. The Buck family praise Roy for his Christmas presents (their home, Joseph's life, and Sun Chief). Roy quotes the Holy Bible: "Don't forget--'Every good gift comes down from above!' We just pass it along."

Indexer Notes

28 half-pages. Script credit as per page 120, Gaylord Du Bois's Account Books, compiled from the original account books by Randall W. Scott (1985). Du Bois script identification by and Buscema art identification confirmed by David Porta, December 2013. The script features several Du Bois trademarks: 1) Animals are featured prominently, and are given voice (are not silent); 2.) Apache dialog as well as animal dialog reflect the fascination that "Du Bois the language guy" had for other languages; 3.) Roy's quoting from the Holy Bible, consistent with Rogers' own Christian faith, and the religious meaning of Christmas, also reflects Du Bois's own faith (he was a fundamentalist lay preacher); 4.) Brains over brawn are emphasized in conflict resolution, as Roy solicits the law in aid for one friend, and tells the other friend, "Maybe we can do it without gunplay; 5.) Friendship is the underlying motive of the protagonist's action in achieving justice
