Issue Notes

Last Popeye material published by Western under a license with King Features Syndicate which dated back to the early-mid 1940s, first under the Dell banner and later as Gold Key. The last standard format Popeye comic book published by Western under this license was Popeye the Sailor (Western, 1962 Series) #80 (May 1966) – and this issue of March of Comics would have postdated it.

King Features and Charlton would continue the Popeye comic book series until 1978, when the Sailor Man would return to Western to be published thru 1984 under the Gold Key and Whitman brands.

Postdates the first two issues of Popeye the Sailor published by King Features – cover dates August 1966 and October 1966, respectively.

Last original work by Bud Sagendorf to be published by Western.
