- Phil Morgan; Mr. Baker; Marge; Pat; Joan; Susan; Beth; Fred
- Synopsis
- Some of the boys ride their bicycles on Mr. Bakers lawn and break his bird bath by accident. Baker sees them ride off and calls for them to stop, but they don't. Some of the girls don't blame him for being angry, because they had no right to ride through his yard. They should have stopped and offered to replace the bird bath. Other girls think it would be silly to stop if there was a chance they weren't seen. Things like that are bound to happen when you live near a school and you have to expect it. Susan feels she has to buy a new copy of a book she borrowed from Joan. The cover got torn.
An ongoing series, whereby a situation is set up in 4 pages with no resolution and the reader is asked to judge what the right thing to do is in the given situation. One text page of 20 true/false questions about the story you just read follows, along with 2 discussion questions. There is another text page which discusses the moral implications of both sides of the story. The correct answers to the questions are upside-down on the bottom of the page and you can tally your score on a scoresheet.
