Faces reveals Al McKimson, a pen name for several artists. First the brothers Chuck and Tom McKimson. Others were Pete Alvarado, John Ushler, Randy Steffen, Andrew Bensen, Hi Mankin, Mike Arens, Alex Toth. The art may vary a bit since several of them could work on the same story (also by R W Phillips). Art identification by Steinar Ådland January 2011.

In Jerry Bails' Who's Who, Thayer is credited with Zane Grey FC#449 Tappan's Burro. Using that as a start, it is easy to pick out the rest of his work in the 50's, and this is one.
