- Synopsis
- Publisher Jon is impressed by the political writing of newspaper columnist Eileen; they date and fall in love. Eileen covers the gubernatorial campaign of Dan, a honest candidate but one who’s supported by crooked Halley. Dan falls for Eileen. She’s ordered by Jon to support Dan's candidacy and ignore Halley's participation in the campaign. Eileen and Dan learn Jon plans to manipulate Dan after he’s elected: Dan exposes the plot and tries to withdraw but is elected anyway. As governor, Dan vows to crush corruption and marry Eileen.

- Synopsis
- Adele is accidentally blinded in her boyfriend Ken’s lab. Ken, guilt-stricken, vanishes. Several years later, Dr. Curry proposes an experimental operation to cure Adele; she doesn't know Ken is behind this plan. Adele refuses to have the operation until Curry romances her, since she doesn’t want him to be “burdened by a blind wife!” Curry backs out because he really loves Adele so Ken performs the operation. The operation apparently fails and Ken tries to commit suicide, wounding Curry when he intervenes. Adele’s vision returns, she learns the truth, and reunites with Ken.

She pretends to be meek and feminine to catch Gene, but he balks at marriage; he’s a private detective and needs a self-reliant wife, not a “helpless, clinging-vine type.” Driving her cab, Lindy follows Gene on a job and helps him capture a gang of dangerous crooks, thus proving she’s the perfect wife for him.

- Circus animal trainer Lora refuses to show weakness both in the cage and in life. When poster artist Tom declares his love for her, she turns him down because she thinks he's a coward. Lora falls for tightrope walker Lopez instead, but he not only cheats on her with bareback rider Clarabelle, he provokes black panther Satan into attacking her, jealous of Lora's fame. To conquer her fear, Lora returns to the cage but Satan attacks again and Tom saves her life. Lora apologizes for calling him a coward, and they will be married.
