- Synopsis
- Small-town resident Polly has a chaste relationship with her boyfriend Wade. She writes a romantic novel and visits New York when it’s purchased by a publisher. Her agent Bruce says the book is considered a satire on romance novels, which offends Polly, but she plays along. Wade arrives and catches Bruce kissing Polly: she tells him that she wants to be kissed, so Wade obliges. Bruce cheerfully withdraws.

Helen has to overcome her inexperience to rescue him. “I’ll never be Helpless Helen again!” she tells him, and they will be married.
