Issue Notes

The two first printing variants were distributed in a 50/50 ratio.

This issue's content was originally solicited to be contained in issues #5 and #6, but due to the death of the author's son, the overall lateness of the book, and the desire to start the One Year Later storyline concurrent with the other DC titles, the decision was made to combine those issues into #5 with an expanded page count. This was announced via press release on 2006-02-07.

Includes 7 one-page ads for: The Bartimaeus Trilogy (novel, miramax books), Ratchet: Deadlocked (game, Sony), The Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art (college), abovetheinfluence (Partnership for a Drug-Free America, two different ads), Teen Titans (game, Majesco Entertainment), and Kameo: Elements of Power (game, Microsoft Game Studios). Appear in various places in the issue.
Also includes 3 pages of house ads for: Villains United Infinite Crisis Special, All Star Batman & Robin the Boy Wonder Statue, and Red Sonia/Claw: Devil's Hands. Appear in various places in this issue.

Synopsis
Dark Supergirl recalls just before Kara left Krypton, her father told her she is to kill the baby Kal-El. She is then "made innocent" to assimilate better, but her "true" self emerged under Darkseid. Supergirl claims Dark Supergirl is lying and they fight. The JLA confronts them, and they wrestle some more. After more fighting, Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman show up. Supergirl asks that both of the Supergirls be bound by Wonder Woman's lasso, and is asked "Who is Kara Zor-El?" After an explosion, both are merged again, into "Supergirl", who wishes to be known as that and not Kara Zor-El.
