Synopsis
Janet blames a cowardly test pilot for crashing a new plane her father designed; her sister’s test pilot husband was also killed in a crash, another reason Janet dislikes that profession. Janet falls in love with Hal, an airplane mechanic. Her father builds a new plane but can’t find a pilot willing to test it. Hal reveals himself to be a test pilot; he pretended to be a mechanic because he knew Janet hated test pilots. Hal flies the plane successfully and Janet knows if she loves him she has to accept his dangerous profession.

Synopsis

Nancy discards her pretensions and takes an office job. She also reunites with Tony.

Synopsis
Marcia moves in with her married sister Ann and her husband Al. Ann and her husband constantly fight over money. Ann moves out and gets a job as Leonard’s secretary. Ann accepts his marriage proposal but then demands he support her in lavish fashion. Leonard calls her greedy and breaks their engagement, leaving for a job in Brazil. Ann comes to Ray Mann for help, and he offers “Love Diary” readers the chance to submit suggestions via mail.

Ray's client is "a girl whom he knows only as Marcia G.," but in the story her last name is given as Hooper.

Ray Mann's appearance in this issue is back to the original version (black hair, clean shaven, round face).

Synopsis
After his father dies in a storm, Jim decides to give up the fishing business. His friend Meg convinces him to run an excursion boat for tourists to a nearby island. Rich Gloria charters his boat and later offers Jim a city job. When Meg’s younger brother Bob and some other fishermen are in trouble, Meg asks Jim to captain a rescue attempt. Bob is saved and Jim realizes he belongs on the sea, and with Meg.

Synopsis

However, she learns that she’s now a social outcast, and tries to repent by becoming a volunteer social worker. While on duty at the local orphanage, Ruth risks her life to save the children from a fire. Don and Ruth realize they love each other.
