Synopsis
Lois refuses to marry her boyfriend Larry before he leaves for military duty: “I don’t want a man from this hick town…I want someone exciting.” She takes a “defense job” in “sophisticated gentleman” Jeff’s office and begins to date him. Larry comes home on leave and gives Lois an engagement ring. Lois forgets the ring in her office and goes back at night to retrieve it, discovering Jeff and some “foreign” men there. Larry and the police arrive in time to save Lois from the spy ring. Lois will marry Larry now.

Synopsis
18-year-old Betsy dates new neighbor Nick, but her older sister Ellen sees them and reports to their mother, who thinks Betsy is too young to go steady. In revenge, Betsy says Ellen is going steady with Freddy, and their mother forbids that relationship as well. Betsy sees Ellen with Nick and is angry. Ellen confesses to her sister that she and Freddy have been married for months and Ellen is pregnant; she was only “dating” Nick to get out of the house and see Freddy. Betsy says their mother was married at 19, so Ellen can tell the truth. Everyone is happy.

Synopsis
Mary marries Bert but they are poor. She meets Bill, an old friend of her father, and visits a gambling club. Mary’s father was a gambler, and she wins a large sum of money but doesn’t tell Bert. After a time, her luck changes and she signs a number of IOUs. Bert finds out and pays, but is angry at his wife: “you cheated us out of our life savings.” Mary leaves him, vowing to repay the money, and works in a fish processing factory. Months later, she gives Bert the money and they reconcile.
