However, Jarol says those are his father’s wives: “I was educated in England in Western ways,” and only wants one wife—-Alice.

Dick and Ann fall in love but her father opposes the match. Dick tests an anti-toxin on himself and when Mr. Douglas contracts the illness, Dick saves his life. Mr. Douglas gives his blessing to Dick and Ann’s romance.
