Synopsis
Cliff and Sherry are college sweethearts; upon graduation, he says they'll be married when he gets a decent job. He wants to be a journalist, but Sherry says her father will give him an executive position in the Kansas farm machinery factory he owns. Cliff wants to become a success on his own but he agrees to try it for six months. Cliff is unhappy and leaves. Some time later he returns, a noted foreign correspondent. Cliff tells Sherry he did it for her, and they are reunited.
Charlotte Stevens; Cliff Allen; David Frazier; Edith Frazier
Synopsis
Charlotte thinks co-worker Cliff is "too immature...too unsophisticated!" She falls in love with her new boss David, although he's "past forty" and married with two children. Charlotte and David have an affair and Charlotte asks him to divorce his wife. However, one of David's children falls ill--Charlotte is angry that he breaks a date with her to care for the child, and David says she's "self-centered! Thoughtless! Vain!" Clint consoles Charlotte and they eventually get engaged.

Synopsis
Fearing she'll be an old maid, Rhonda agrees to marry her boss Kenneth, although she doesn't love him: "I must be practical!" However, she then meets and falls in love with photographer Dan. Rhonda breaks up with Ken, who wishes her well: "I don't want gratitude! I want love!" Now Rhonda can marry the man she truly loves: Dan.
