Synopsis
Gale, a shill for Danny’s rigged carnival games, encourages Harry to play and lose money, then confesses her complicity to him. They fall in love. Gale convinces Danny to allow Harry to win the next evening, since Harry needs money to finance his research. Harry proposes to Gale but his ex-girlfriend Renee exposes Gale’s poverty-stricken past. Harry doesn't care but Gale thinks she’s been the butt of a joke. She causes Harry to lose his money at Danny’s game. Gale tries to force Danny to return the cash but he shoots her instead. Danny is arrested and Harry and Gale reconcile.

Synopsis
Johnny proposes to librarian Marla, but she wants a career as a dancer. Johnny helps her get a job in Nicky’s nightclub, which leads to international fame. Johnny becomes her manager but agrees to no romance between them. In Paris, Marla is abducted by the Rajah of Kimpore and taken to his Middle Eastern nation to be his wife. Johnny rescues Marla and she renounces her desire to be famous.

Synopsis
Lisa and investigator Frank are engaged but can’t get married because he doesn’t make enough money to support a family. Frank tells her that crooked politician Foster will soon be arrested and this will be Frank’s “big break.” Gangsters offer Lisa a mink coat for incriminating recordings; thanks to her information, they ambush Frank, beat him savagely, and steal the tapes. Lisa recovers the tapes from the gang at the risk of her own life, and hopes some day Frank will forgive her.

Synopsis
Laura and Glen fall in love while on vacation at a dude ranch. Glen promises to visit her on her family’s chicken farm, but doesn’t show up or write. Laura is consoled by neighbor Jim and she agrees to marry him. Glen finally appears, having been in an automobile accident which left him unable to write. But things work out for the best: Glen falls in love with Laura’s sister Helen, and there is a double wedding.
