When Adam materializes on Earth, he has nine days to form a plan. Returning to Rann, Adam finds Ranagar gone, but the Ranagarians restored. Realizing the vaccumizers only affect one element at a time, Adam has the Ranagarians cover themselves in several different metals so they can get close enough to the aliens to defeat them in hand-to-hand combat. The aliens surrender and leave without their weapons.
