Jimmy attacks with a wooden baseball bat, knocking her head off, and Dr. Polaris suddenly remembers who Repulse is modeled after (his aunt, who raised him cruelly after his mother died). That allows Superman and Dr. Polaris to trash what's left of Repulse. Then Black Adam and Professor Zoom show up to claim Dr. Polaris for the Society, and Zoom takes him away. Black Adam stays to help Superman repair a bridge damaged in the battle. Clark and Lois spend some time going for a walk (on the Great Wall of China).

- Synopsis:
- It's Halloween night, and some kids who are trick or treating encounter some real ghosts. Lois and Willis observe as a storm starts raging, and try to get the story. Superman investigates the storm, and encounters the Spectre. Colin Thornton realizes that the Spectre is coming for him, and broadcasts a spell to have spirits rise to his defense. Lightning almost hits the van with Lois and Willis; he falls out while the van crashes off of a bridge, injuring and pinning Lois. Superman confronts Thornton, who reveals himself to be Satanus. Superman volunteers his soul to help Satanus if Satanus will release all the innocent people he has enslaved. Sam Lane's ghost appears and directs away all the other ghosts from Lois. They have a heart-to-heart talk while awaiting rescue. Meanwhile, Satanus cannot absorb Superman's soul, as it was offered up selflessly. The Spectre comes, immobilizes Superman, and crushes Satanus, apparently destroying him. Sam leaves Lois, the Spectre disappears, the storm ends, the ghosts disappear, and Superman rescues Lois. But, watching from a distance is Sam Lane, who apparently is not a ghost after all.
