Synopsis
Carol and Steve are engaged but he says “I’ve always felt I should never marry until I could adequately support a wife.” Carol goes on televised quiz show “A Fortune is Yours” and wins $4000 the first night. Steve is upset: “I’ve got to be the the big earner...not the woman I marry!” They break up, and Steve prepares to leave for Europe on business. Carol deliberately loses the chance to win $300,000 and is reunited with Steve.

In the late 1950s, televised quiz shows were very popular in the USA, until a cheating scandal emerged. A congressional investigation began in the summer of 1959 and beginning in 1960 most of the big money shows were cancelled. The 1994 movie "Quiz Show" covers this topic.

Synopsis
Danny and Lynn form a singing act and go to work for bandleader Jock. Danny lets fame go to his head. He also proposes to Lynn, but jilts her on their wedding day. Lynn marries Jock on the rebound, but discovers everything he does is for the sake of publicity. When Danny is injured, Lynn visits him in the hospital and he says Jock is alright: he knew Danny was bad for Lynn, and really loves her. Lynn reconciles with Jock.
