Synopsis:
Coley arrives in Palmettoville, and is eyed suspiciously by Chief Beasley, who suggests he can get a room at Palmetto House, but advises he leave town quickly. Coley interrupts Billy beating up Joey. Joey tells Coley about his friend's murder. At Palmetto House, Carolina is quickly smitten with Coley, and moves him into her room. He tells her he's looking for a "gang of killers". Beasley, who realizes Coley is a lot nicer than he seems, discusses the murders with him. Rich girl Samantha Bishop invites Coley to perform at her mansion; both she and her friend Douglas O'Hara are attracted to him. Miz Liza, protective of Carolina, shows her how wild & uncontrollable Coley is, then offers him the formula for the voodoo sex potion-- something no "Mojo" has ever had before-- if he'll just leave her alone. Coley does, and shacks up with Joey instead. In a bad part of town, Maggie O'Hara has her way with Coley, then tells him she has videotape evidence of one of the killings. He urges her to take it to the police before anything else happens. Kit arrives in town, introducing herself to Carolina. On his way to church, Joey is kidnapped by Billy.

Part 2 of 3. Page 22 NOT included in 1993 version! Though never revealed in the story, the fact that Douglas & Maggie have the same last name as Sammy O'Hara, the photo-journalist from IDOL OF FLESH #1, suggests Coley came to Palmettoville deliberately to investigate the killings, based on info from Sammy (who turns up in THE DEATHSNAKE #3-- perhaps too much of a coincidence to be one).

Genre:

Synopsis:
Billy kills Joey, after learning Maggie has a video of a previous murder, and that Coley plans to dance at the Bishop house. Billy kills Maggie, after learning Carolina has the tape. Sammy gets the tape and kills Carolina, but Miz Liza kills him in turn. Billy cons Douglas into thinking he's Coley's "boyfriend" so he can videotape his performance. Coley performs onstage, with Douglas, Kit, and a young black man. Chief Beasley informs Judge O'Hara that he now has enough evidence to bring in Billy, but the judge also wants Coley thrown in jail for "turning" his son Douglas queer. Beasley's men arrest everyone at the Bishop house, but are so focused on beating up Coley that Billy escapes. Beasley lets Coley track Billy down in the swamp, but guilt-induced visions of his victims lead to Billy drowning in the bog. Coley almost dies trying to save him. Later, Coley makes a deal with the local D.A. to plead guilty if Kit is allowed to go free. Coley assures Kit the jail won't hold him long.

Coley reveals he knows about Judge O'Hara's involvement with dumping toxic waste in the swamp, and had taken and hidden evidence from Jack's office, intending to turn it over to Chief Beasley! Jack says this leave him no choice but to kill Coley, but Coley says he can't do it because Jack's in love with him. Instead, he puts Coley in "the oven", a sweatbox. One of the guards, Steve, lets Coley out and the two make love in the swamp. Steve feels for sure there's no malice whatsoever in Coley, and offers to help him escape. But back with the other prisoners, while Coley is servicing a black inmate, Ed, Smiley and a group of others attack savagely, apparently killing both Coley and Valdosta.

Synopsis:
In Palmettoville, Rev. Turner has a mob all hot & angry about the Bishop Theatre showing Coley's latest film, "Voodoo Lovegod". With Coley now a fugitive, it's turned into a lynch mob. Sammy O'Hara, last seen in IDOL OF FLESH, is on hand to cover the "event". Harry discovers that Chief Beasley is not a typical cop, and befriends him. Coley goes to Miz Liza for more of the voodoo drug, then sneaks into the Courthouse to confront Judge O'Hara with the evidence against Warden Jack Brady. Shocked at the brutality and insanity of Brady & his daughter, the Judge decides to repeal Coley's jail sentence. At that point, Jack, Delilah & Daniel show up, determined to kill Coley. Things get really nasty, and Coley's life is only saved via his use of the voodoo drug-- and the Judge shooting Delilah in the head. Atop the Courthouse, Jack confronts Coley one final time. 6 months later, back in California, Kit is shocked when Coley turns up-- horny as ever.

Indexer Notes

Part 11 of 11. Cover & "Swamp" pin-up NOT included in this collection. Next appearances in MEATMEN #17 (Leyland Publications, 1995); then in HARDTHROB #1 (Eros, January 1996), reprinted in COLEY RUNNING WILD: Book Three: Hard Throb (Eros, April 2003). Because the stories in MEATMEN are all stand-alone appearances, it's unsure what the actual order of continuity may be. Appearances are listed here in order of publication, but it's quite possible most of the MEATMEN episodes take place during the 6 months that Coley was missing at the end of this comic.
