This issue has variants.
This issue went on sale 2007-07-04 (non-US) and 2007-07-05 (US) (on time). Page count includes MAD about Hunger ad.
The cover scene (or anything remotely like it) does not appear in the issue; Eddie Berganza has said (through Matt Idelson on a column at SupermanHomePage) that the cover was symbolic, not literal, representing the culmination of the whole "Kara was sent to Earth to kill Superman" story.
Story continued from the previous issue (actually tying up several threads from Joe Kelly's run). "Special thanks to Steve Bird". The writer also has a blurb at the end: "Thanks for a great run. Cya around the fortress. --Joe Kelly '07". He also has a different blurb on the DC Nation page.
Dan goes over the clues from the first promotional Countdown poster from February. Ads for Supergirl #20, The All-New Atom #13, Black Canary #1, and Countdown #43. On the Supergirl #20 ad, there's also this blurb: "Thanks to everyone who gave this book and our vision of Supergirl a chance-Joe Kelly 2007". Appears on page 34 in this issue.
House ads for: Outsiders, 52 Aftermath (Booster Gold, Black Adam: The Dark Age, 52 Aftermath: The Four Horsemen, 52 Aftermath: Crime Bible, Infinity Inc.), Teen Titans #50, Action Comics, Superman: Last Son action figures, Batman and Son hardcover, and DC comics web site. Appear in various places in the issue.
This and the following Insert sequences are an 8 page advertising insert (stapled separately but bound into the issue). It has an indicia title of "The MAD Magazine BallPark Franks Special Issue", and is done by the talent of MAD Magazine.
