According to Lew Stringer in his blog "Blimey" Leo Baxendale didn't illustrate any of the "Swots and the Blots" strips until #159. Ron Spencer and Mike Lacey imitated Baxendale's style and worked on the strip [minus #159] until Smash was revamped in March 1970 [#163]. Leo Baxendale then drew the strip until its cancellation.
