Indexer Notes

One strand in the story involves an "information revolution" that had reached its peak in 1997. "Earth had become one great interconnected mind." An ad jingle called "google-oh" invented by a teen whiz-kid stripped words of all their meaning, causing anyone who listened to it to be held in its thrall. "Survivors remembered the time before as little more than a vivid dream. Things were never the same again....."
