- Synopsis
- After trying out Robert's newest invention (a flying rocket scooter) during the 16th meeting of the Scrapyard Detectives, Jinn mentions that the Khatibs have moved into the neighborhood and that they should meet and welcome them. Lisan Khatib shows the Detectives the rose beds his parents planted to commemorate the day they moved into the house. But someone rips up the flower beds, and the Detectives resolve to find out who did it, and why.

- Synopsis
- While the entire town celebrates diversity by opening a new community center, someone who considers himself a true patriot decides to start at the center down in order to send a grim message. Ray and Jinn are in the center doing work when the fire starts and barely escape before the enitre building is engulfed. The Detectives then decide to catch the arsonist.

- Three different children (Ray, Robert, and Jinn) meet at school and become friends. While looking at Robert's invention workshop at his dad's scrapyard, they witness a thief climbing over the wall and stealing junk. Using their wits, they solve the mystery of the thief, who inadvertently christens them "the Scrapyard Detectives"
In this story, Jinn is shown riding a skateboard and walking. Her accident that leads to her wheelchair happens after this story but before issue #1.
