Issue Notes

This issue has variants.

Two covers were initially done for this issue; one by Lee/Williams featuring Joker, and an alternate one by Adams featuring Joker and Batman (10 issues for 1 issue mixture). Later, a third cover was done for the Retailer Roundtable Program (the variant cover with an added blue shading). This issue went on sale on 2007-11-29 in the US (on schedule). This issue was originally announced to have a variant wraparound cover by Frank Miller, but later DC announced via press release on 2007-11-06 that it would be by Neal Adams instead (and not wraparound).

The Joker has seduced attorney Donna Gugina, and then strangles her, telling his henchwoman to get rid of the body. Dick and Batman discuss the Joker, then Batman tells Dick to get a costume if he wants to help. Batman takes Jocko-boy back to Gotham, and dumps him in the harbor. Dick finds a bow and arrows, reminding him of Robin Hood, which generates the idea for a costume. He asks Alfred (in shadows) to design a costume to his specifications. Meantime, Batman follows a green signal, and finds Green Lantern on a rooftop. He wants to talk, so they set up an appointment in 12 hours at Crime Alley. Joker visits Catwoman, asking her to join him in some mischief. Batman returns to the Batcave, where he finds Dick dressed as "Hood". Batman immediately shows him why a hood is not a good idea on a costume, and renames him to Robin.
