Two covers were done for this issue; one featuring Superman and the Daily Planet globe by Ross, and an alternate one featuring Superman and Atlas' leg and arm by Guedes (10 issues for 1 issue mixture).
This cover is an homage to the traditional pose of Atlas lifting the Earth. In the story, Atlas (not Superman) reenacts that pose.
For every 10 copies of the standard edition, retailers were allowed to order one copy of the variant edition.
Story continues in the next issue. This version of Atlas was designed by Jack Kirby, and only appeared once before in 1st Issue Special (DC, 1975 series) #1 (April 1975).
