- Characters:
- Rookie Ranking; Harvey Mooden
- Synopsis:
- Rankin battles a grizzly bear in the middle of the city.
Originally credited "Arthur Peddy ?", but he has more crowded panels and akward moving hands, pointed ears and more expressions on faces. Compare his Rookie Rankin in issue #35-36. This is similar art to the many Manhunter stories in Police Comics credited to Peter Riss on pencils. Probably a mix up by Who's Who, who has him only on ink.
Bob Hughes agrees on Riss pencils.

- Characters:
- Black X; Jon Gruger; Batu
- Synopsis:
- There was once a man who had lived too long. The voices told him so.
This is most probably John Rosenberger on pencils, when looking at Black X in the splash panel, and also the many close up side views and figures in bird view, hands and foreshortening movements of figures. He also has pencilled the story in #81, but different inkers. Very much like Rosenberger's work on The Fly #13 and others in that series. His protuding lower lips seems to be changed by the inker, except in Black X in first panel.

Similar art to the credited pencil work on Manhunter stories in Police Comics #37-#59 by Peter Riss, and the face at bottom of page 6 is very much his, V-shaped and eyes far apart, and otherwise little expression.
Pencil credit revised from Pete Riss to Citron by Craig Delich 2013-5-9, per Bob Hughes.
