On a trip to London to push a recording tape made by Lindy and her boyfriend Pete, Lindy has a chance encounter with famous rock star Vince Bailey. They agree that the tape is not up to standard, but Vince likes the song and wants to buy it to record it himself. Pete believes he has a good voice and thinks Vince is just worried about competition. He finds a manager who has a reputation of exploiting singers. Vince promises Lindy he will keep an eye on Pete, but Pete becomes jealous of Vince's attention to Lindy.
