Synopsis
In the Mojave Desert, Rocky, the original Challengers, and Marlon duck mercenaries. (Kenn, Clay, and Brenda are dematerialized in their car.) Both teams say they saw a bright light, both planes crashed, and both saw a second light. June and Prof state they weren't killed in the explosion of Challenger Mountain, but transported to another planet. They lived there until zapped into Dr. Carcosa's lab. They escaped, signaled their friends and met, and were winked out again - for five years! They infiltrate Dr. Carcosa's base and are ambushed but Saxon the Anti-Challenger guns down the mercenaries.

Indexer Notes

The explanation is spread out, but basically Dr. Carcosa has been experimenting for years to use Tesla generators as a military weapon to dematerialize planes and people. He made many planes wink out and both Challenger teams' jets crash. People and vehicles can be suspended in limbo for YEARS and brought back in an instant, with no time passing for them. That's where the original Challs have been! What the SECOND weird light means is still a mystery. Note this explanation alters/augments the Loeb/Sale account, and introduces new elements such as the strange lights.
